The charger is only one part of the installation
An EV charging project includes equipment, a suitable connection and an assessment of the property supply. ESA advises using approved charging equipment, a dedicated circuit and outdoor-rated equipment where needed. The contractor should evaluate the proposed load and explain whether the supply, a load-management arrangement or another design is suitable. Do not choose a circuit from the charger advertising alone.
Prepare the scope for your Brampton property
Provide the number of vehicles, preferred parking positions and typical charging needs. Explain whether you are planning one unit now or leaving room for a later second installation.
Ask about the available electrical capacity, equipment arrangement and any load-management option. Cable routing and vehicle movement should be considered without extending cords through doors or creating trip routes.
What should the assessment establish?
A two-vehicle Brampton charging plan should explain whether the equipment is expected to operate at the same time and how the arrangement supports your normal parking pattern. Have the contractor assess those requirements rather than assuming two identical units are the best choice. If one installation is planned now, ask what route or preparation would avoid unnecessary rework for a later addition. Confirm how the charging equipment and any managed-load arrangement will be operated. Record the final location of each connection so a change in vehicle position does not lead to improvised extensions.
Questions before you agree to work
Can an existing garage outlet be used automatically?
An outlet or earlier provision needs to be assessed against the actual equipment and current installation. Its presence does not confirm approval, circuit capacity or suitability for the charging arrangement.
What paperwork should I request?
Ask the contractor about the ESA notification before installation and request the Certificate of Acceptance after the applicable review. Keep the equipment documentation and agreed operating information as well.
